Çeşka Underground City: It is located on a high hill, right on the hill, about 3 kilometers northeast of Yozgat city center and north of the irrigation pond known as Kirazlı Pond. The main entrance gate in the northwest part of the underground city, which was found to be entered from three different places, was closed. In the southern part, which is a second entrance, half of the two-storey and rock-cut space has been demolished, and it is entered through two separate galleries from two separate rooms. However; Since the galleries are partially full, it is not possible to enter from here. There are three rooms in this part and there is a second floor above these rooms. On the wall of the room in the eastern part, there is a niche about 1.80 meters long. In addition, the room in the western part has a ventilation shaft. The third entrance is entered by crawling through a narrow partially filled gallery with a distorted mouth on the lower slopes of the rocky mass in the north. After about 5 meters, a rectangular partially filled room is entered, and two separate galleries are connected to the west of this room. After entering from one of them, a large rectangular hall is reached at a distance of 10 meters, and two large room doors, two small rooms and two opposing gallery doors open to this hall. Its approximate height is around 1.30 meters. The ceiling parts are in the form of vaults. There are also large and small niches. Large and small rock tombs carved into the rocks were found at the top of the underground city. Monochrome slipped and uncoated Roman, Byzantine and painted Phrygian pottery were found among the ruined stones from the skirts of the hill. The Museum Directorate carried out cleaning work in the galleries in 2008.
